Puffing Billy Line
The starter signal was returned to its original location and was officially unveiled during a special ceremony attended by the Mayor on 17th October
The signal has been restored to its original design and build specification and now stands as a proud symbol of a once much loved branch line
The Hayling Island Branch was a railway often referred to as the Hayling Billy, a name now given to the footpath along the old track.
2013 marked the 50th Anniversary of the closure of the line and presented an exciting opportunity for Hayling Island residents and visitors to celebrate and remember the heritage of this once used transport system.
