The Institution of Mechanical Engineers

This model of an early 20th century workshop which is on display within the Institution was constructed by EH Windsor who worked for Curry and Paxton (Opticians) Ltd.

Windsor based the floor layout on visits to the Woolwich Arsenal and used contemporary machine tool catalogues for details of individual pieces of equipment.

Ian Clark was commissioned to carry out a complex and sensitive conservation cleaning project which included targeted repairs and the application of surface protective coatings
