Edward Bowring Stephens was born in 1815 the son of James Stephens a figurative stone mason
EB Stephens was arguably Exeter’s finest sculptor. He first exhibited in 1838 and went on to produce commissions for Buckingham Palace and many fine public works for Exeter
He died in London on November 10th 1882 aged 67
